P’Cheen Bistro and Pub is a wonderful gem. It is the corner stone of it’s neighborhood, literally. The restaurant is located on the street level floor of an apartment building on Highland Ave in the Old Fourth Ward, downtown Atlanta.
The outside of the restaurant is highly deceiving. The interior is far bigger than you would imagine. The eclectic/rustic decor is very compelling with the ventilation and old school fixtures which add to the appeal.
P’Cheen’s menu is a tapas base for the most part with an excellent selection of dishes. The swordfish plate is to die for, yet you can have something as simple as soup & grilled cheese sandwich and have a party of flavors dancing on your tongue.
I love the wine selection. Not vast, but extremely palatable in taste and price. You can have something as a Malbec to an above par Chardonnay. I can see myself sitting and enjoying a guest DJ on the 1s and 2s virtually every week with a glass of wine in my hand. Actually, I was just remembering last week when DJ Jamad tore up the set. The owner Kieran Neely is also a DJ, so you can imagine the crowd that graces the venue.
All in all, this joint is jumping. The staff is friendly and attentive, the food is delicious, the drinks compliment every aspect of your visit. If your lucky enough to visit on a night with a DJ, the experience is twice as good. P’Cheen is a wonderful get away, even if it’s for a few hours.
