Three red-headed, triplet sisters comprise the band appropriately named Red Roots. The band has a country sound with an inspirational message. Nika (lead vocalist and guitar), Natalie (backing vocals, violin, mandolin, and keyboard), Nicole (backing vocals, banjo, guitar, and bass) make up the trio. The All-American, Southern girls are from the Gulf Coast and have became nationally known with their first album released. While recently coming onto the music scene, the group has been nominated for numerous awards including the “Horizon Group of the Year”, which is fan-voted by the Singing News Magazine. With their first radio release, also titled “Red Roots,” breaking the Top 40 Singing News Southern Gospel Charts, and their second radio single “Lord I’m Listening” reaching #7 in the Singing News Bluegrass Charts, the sound and message these girls express is being heard across the country.

Q. So whats everyones name and where is everyone from?
A. Our Names are Nicole, plays banjo, bass, guitar, drums (the oldest by 1min. from Natalie), Natalie. plays violin, mandolin, piano (the middle by 1 min. from Nika), Nika, plays guitar (youngest by 1 min. from Natalie) We’re from Wade, Mississippi…. close to Pascagoula, MS

A. Still live Wade, MS
Q. So how long have you guys been together?
A. We’ve been together 7 years as a band
Q. How did you all meet?
A. In our mothers stomach. We are triplets.
Q. How did you come about the groups name?
A. Our aunt Julie, came up with our name Red Roots, while sweeping the floor and heard a name of a Christian tv show. She added their root name with Red Roots, and it has a double meaning. Our hair of course, we’re all red headed, but also we’re rooted in the shed, blood of Jesus Christ.
Q. Where have you played, foreign and domestic?
A. We’ve played throughout the United States.
Q. What big names have you played with or for?
A. The Isaacs, Mark Trammel Quartet, Talley Trio, Dove Brothers, Mike and Kelly Bowling, Dixie Echos, The Whisnants. Florida Boys, The Blackwood Quartet
Q. Are you aspiring for a record deal or would you like to remain indie?
A. We are with Red Hen Records of Daywind Music Group
Q. How many songs have you under your belt?
A. We have released 2 songs to Southern Gospel Radio, and both have reached the Top 40 of the Singing News Charts, and one has been in the Top Ten on the Singing News Bluegrass Charts.
Q. Who does the writing or is it a collaboration?
A. We do write and all of us participate. We did not write on our first CD, but on our upcoming, we are planning to co-write.
Q. When was your CD released?
A. We released our 1st CD nationwide in January of 2011, and are planning to release our new album early next year.
Q. What advice would you give young aspiring bands ?
A. Be what God Made you to be. He gave you your talent, so work your best for him!
